Where to catch the Chef: SIC on the 23rd, Leiria on the 11th
Two dates in the coming weeks when Chef Joana Marinho leaves the atelier. One you can watch from home; the other you can attend, taste and ask questions at.
23 September · SIC, «Casa Feliz»
On the morning of Wednesday 23 September, the Chef will be on «Casa Feliz», on SIC. It is her second television appearance this month, after «Bom dia Alegria» on 9 September.
What she will be making: the «Winter Ember», the chestnut bonbon that won the dessert category of Cociña con Castaña de Galicia, in A Coruña. The coffret is in the boutique.
11 October · Prove Leiria Doçaria
Prove Leiria Doçaria brings the city’s pastry shops and confectioners together at the Mercado de Sant’Ana, from 9 to 11 October. It is the weekend when the region’s sweet-making shows itself all at once — with showcookings, the Escolha Doce dos Leirienses competition and a programme that fills three days.
The Chef’s demonstration is on Sunday 11 October at 2.30pm. Free entry. Anyone who wants to watch chocolate being tempered up close — and hear why badly tempered couverture gives itself away at the first snap — should come.

And after that
The house stays where it has always been: in Leiria. The atelier works to order and behind closed doors — there is no shop open to the public and no visits. That is what makes these dates count: they are among the few occasions when you can watch the Chef work. If you cannot make either, the online boutique is always open — and the Chef’s page keeps the record of every appearance.
